mythologies
live intervention and site specific exhibition with audioguide at Centre Dramatique National Nanterre-Amandiers, Paris, DAS Theatre Block 2017

When Diego Velázquez (or Clara García Fraile) was commissioned to create mythological paintings for the king of Spain (or Philippe Quesne, the director of the theatre), she decided to decorate the Royal Palace salon (or Quesne’s office) with images of mortal humans at work at the Theatre des Amandiers in Nanterre, with their sweat and dirt and overtime, encountering the corresponding goddesses of the Olympus.

Images: "Athena’s Carpentry" , "Higieia in the Lavatory" and views of the final exhibit.
